Before starting an egg donation treatment, it is necessary to carry out a personalized and individualized study of the couple and a selection of a donor in order to carry out the treatment.
The basic tests that are performed within this visit are:
- Ultrasound to confirm that the uterus is ready to start treatment.
- Infectious disease analysis.
- Seminogram of the couple.
However, our team of specialists may determine that further testing is necessary.
Start of Treatment
Once the donor has been selected and with all the correct tests, the endometrium is prepared to be able to perform the
embryo transfer performed previously in the assisted reproduction laboratory.
Fertilization and Transfer
On the first day of menstruation, the procedure begins with hormone replacement therapy (TSH). The gynecologist will perform follow-up ultrasounds until the endometrium is ready for transfer and that is when the
fertilization of donor eggs with the partner’s semen. In turn, the patient initiates progesterone for subsequent embryo transfer.
Pregnancy test
The pregnancy test is performed between 10-14 days post transfer.
