What is the embryo donation process like?
Study of fertility
Before starting a treatment with embryo donation, it is necessary to carry out a personalized and individualized study of the couple and a selection of the embryos in order to be able to carry out the treatment.
The embryos are selected based on the phenotypic characteristics of the patients.
The basic tests performed during this visit are:
- Ultrasound to confirm that the uterus is fit for treatment.
- Analysis of infectious diseases.
However, our team of specialists may determine that further testing is necessary.
Start of the treatment
Once the embryos have been selected and all the tests are correct, the endometrium is prepared for the transfer of the previously selected embryo.
Transfer
On the first day of menstruation, the procedure begins with hormone replacement therapy (TSH). The gynecologist will perform control ultrasounds until the endometrium is ready for the transfer. At that time progesterone is started for the subsequent embryo transfer.
Pregnancy’s test
Pregnancy testing is performed 10-14 days post-transfer.

Embryo donation treatment is one of the most successful procedures in assisted reproduction. It can reach 90% with two treatment cycles.
